My whole idea for this is centred around the strong idea of an 'atmospheric space'.
There is a strong contrast between the contemporary/industrial design shown through the polished wooden floors and concrete walls. These contrast with the shrubbery and general overgrowth of the insides of the boatshed.
This design is made to be an open communal space with the panoramic glass roof that lets in a large amount of light that then refracts on the pond below onto and around the walls and surrounding trees.
On the front of the shed there are two large cast iron gates that allow the shed to still be an open space even if the doors are shut.

Initial Concept #1

Initial idea of a greenhouse of flowers that go down the middle of the room, the idea behind this is to make the audience walk around and experience the atmosphere that fills the room. Grass has been laid on the floor as well as the walls to add to this atmosphere.

Personal Illustrations

An anchor-point drawing that I did on photoshop showing the use of shadow and highlights. As well as simple colour blending as seen below.

Sourced Images

Post-Apocalyptic images of Japan that show nature beginning to reclaim the urban landscape. Source

Experiments

Two objects that compliment each other in colour and to some extent, the texture.
I like the contrast that can be seen in the folds of the sheets that help to compliment each other with the shadows and highlights.

Playing with overlaying imagery to create atmosphere.
The eye is drawn naturally to the bright blue colour of the shed doors, this may work well to put emphasis on a certain bit of the interior

I grew up on the opposite side of the harbour in Eastbourne. Here, I was always close to the water, living only two houses away from the beach I was brought up with a strong influence from the water. Since then i moved to Auckland living in an apartment in the CBD that looked over the harbour.

I have been fortunate enough to experience art and design and different cultures throughout the world with trips overseas to Europe and America. These experiences have influenced me greatly in my own work.
